20 years ago, the commercial insurance landscape was completely different. Insurance agencies had exclusive access to specific carriers and could leverage these partnerships to win business. This is no longer the case. Nearly every producer with a robust and competitive firm can access nearly the entire marketplace through an amalgamation of direct appointments and intermediaries.

As agencies grow in the volume of their book, they struggle to balance their relationships between their preferred carriers and their clients.
